Dahl Delu

In Loving Memory
Landmark Musicals is mourning the loss of our friend, resident scenic designer, and mentor. Dahl Delu, an Emmy-award-winning designer, joined Landmark Musicals in 2013. His first production with us was a visually stunning production of Carousel.  Dahl hand carved the individual carousel horses on the rotating carousel and created a true carnival atmosphere.

Dahl Delu, an extraordinarily gifted artist, designed all of Landmark’s productions from 2013 to 2024.  From the stark abstract set design for Man of La Mancha, to ancient Greece for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, caricatured show curtains and backdrops for Guys and Dolls, Fiddler on the Roof, and Peter Pan, Dahl painted glorious backdrops of London for A Christmas Carol and My Fair Lady.  Dahl completed the initial set design for Landmark’s production of The King and I which will open at Rodey Theater on November 22, 2024.

Dahl shared his gift, his art, with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A teacher with incredible patience and encouragement, a mentor who inspired many to follow in his footsteps, a friend-both personal and professional-whose generosity knew no bounds.

Irreplaceable, never, ever to be forgotten
