Remembering Kandy Thorne - Resident Hair and Wig Designer

It is rare to meet someone who leaves a lasting mark on every life they touch, but Kandy Thorn was exactly that person. I have had the privilege of knowing her for 30 years and her “Landmark Family” who walked alongside her for the last 18 years. Her passing leaves a void that will be felt deeply across the stage and in our hearts.
Kandy wasn’t just a hair and wig stylist; she was an artist who brought characters to life. Whether she was styling for ACLOA or managing the intricate demands of a Landmark production, her talent was undeniable. We always knew that if Kandy was working on a show, the hair and wigs were in the best possible hands. She worked with a quiet, professional excellence that made everyone else’s job easier.
Beyond her professional skill, it was Kandy’s spirit that truly defined her. She was, quite simply, one of the kindest and most giving people many of us have ever known. In an industry that can often be fast-paced and high-pressure, Kandy was a constant source of warmth and grace. She didn’t just style hair; she cared for the people in the chairs.
Thank you Kandy for the three decades of friendship, for the 18 years of dedication to our Landmark family, and for the countless ways you made our world of theater more beautiful.
We will all miss you dearly.

Sincerely,

Louis Giannini
