Act I: 62 minutes; Intermission: 15 minutes; Act II: 60 minutes
At Landmark, Relaxed Performances are intended to be sensitive to, and accepting of, audience members who may benefit from a gentler theatre environment. These performances are open to all; however, they are intentionally modified to accommodate patrons with sensory and vestibular sensitivities, anxiety, dementia, autism spectrum disorders, learning differences, or challenges attending the theater. The performances might also feel more welcoming for families with children who may need the ability to get up and move around or take a break in the lobby.
Please note: while the environment is more welcoming to those with caregiver needs, please check the show content to determine what is best for your family.
Below is a breakdown of all visual (VFX) and sound effects (SFX) that will also be provided as an insert within the program. We are thrilled to welcome an ASL interpreter, who will be signing beginning with our Curtain Speech and through the final curtain. Please note that this musical generally has underscoring throughout the performance which means there will almost always be music. We are fortunate to have a live orchestra which can be loud. Personal ear protection is recommended for those who so desire.
To help ease audience members into life under the sea, part of our curtain speech will feature some of our actors and backstage crew to discuss how makeup, costumes, and sets provide the appearance of sea creatures, swimming, and an underwater world.
